Mi Hermana

Mi Hermana

Mi Hermana — Latina Health Champions® is unique in many ways. We have always wanted to have a program that addressed not one chronic condition but looked at the broad spectrum of conditions that can compromise our lives and well-being. Like most of the programs that we have all been involved with, funding and programs typically focus on one disease or one condition.

Mi Hermana Unique Program

With Mi Hermana® we were given the opportunity to create a unique program that would provide information about how the body works as a series of interrelated systems, the risk factors that may predispose you to a condition and the risk factors that you can work to control, and most important of all the strategies and tools to have the best health possible.

While the purpose of Mi Hermana® is to share knowledge to prevent chronic diseases, just as important is to build community among ourselves and the women we reach.  For more information, please contact us at mh@healthyamericasfund.org

Mi Hermana — Latina Health Champions® Experience

I have learned that food is important, the importance of the respiratory system, eating healthy, and living a healthy life. As a result, I try to eat healthier, sleep 8 hours and I also stopped drinking alcohol and stopped smoking.   ~  Tania

Support for Mi Hermana® Latina Health Champions® is from an unrestricted grant from Hologic. Hologic Inc. is a global medical technology innovator focused on improving the health and well-being of women, their families and communities through early detection and treatment.
